Kyron

Appearance

Kyron is an anthropomorphic wolf-like mammal with sleek, well-groomed fur that fades from a soft silver-gray across most of his body to a darker charcoal at the tips of his ears, yellow eyes, shoulders, paws, and hair. His fur catches the light easily, giving him an almost metallic sheen in certain lighting conditions. His eyes are narrow and golden-yellow, sharp and expressive, often seeming to size people up or flash with amusement when he’s being playful. His eyebrows are black and distinct, accentuating his constant smirk or skeptical glances.

He sports a black leather collar that he never removes, even when sleeping a memento with deep sentimental value. His signature blue denim vest, worn open over his toned chest, hints at a mix of practicality and rebellion. The vest’s edges are slightly frayed, showing its age, yet it’s clearly cared for. Kyron’s upper body is fit and defined, a result of years of labor in the colonies rather than deliberate training.

His lower half is rarely seen, though it’s mentioned that he wears a belt with a simple metallic buckle another small relic of colony life. Sometimes, during concept art or promotional images, faint scars can be seen along his arms or sides remnants of both hard work and harsher memories.

Backstory !!️**(Spoilers)**!!️

Kyron was born and raised in one of the Zero Colonies, a group of isolated settlements existing on the outskirts of the central city regions. The colonies were built on the foundations of older industrial ruins harsh environments where survival demanded both cooperation and resilience. Though the city dwellers often viewed the colonists as backward or primitive, the colonies were close-knit communities where people depended on one another.

Kyron never knew his parents; records indicate they disappeared not long after his birth, though the reason remains unknown. Despite this, Kyron rarely speaks about it with bitterness at least outwardly. He often jokes that not knowing them gave him “one less thing to miss,” though his tone betrays a quiet ache beneath the humor.

Growing up, Kyron worked tirelessly in the colony’s maintenance sectors repairing machinery, helping build shelters, and ensuring the colony’s limited resources were used efficiently. He was well-liked for his strong work ethic and genuine warmth, often helping others even when he didn’t have to. Still, he harbored a deep fascination with the city, longing for its promise of progress, comfort, and freedom. He resented his absent parents for confining him to the colonies’ rough, unending cycle of survival.

When he was a child, he wasn’t alone in that dream. He shared it with a close friend a young partner who shared his passion for the world beyond the colony walls. Together, they made a vow: to escape the colony and build a new life in the city. Kyron’s collar, which he has worn ever since, was a gift from this friend a symbol of their promise and affection.

Tragically, his partner was gravely injured during an equipment failure in the mines, and despite Kyron’s efforts, they didn’t survive. The event left a permanent scar on him. From that day on, he carried their memory through the collar, never removing it. His vision the one he later describes to Delta is of himself as an adult, still in the colonies, still working, still dreaming, but alone.

Though he outwardly accepts his place in life, there’s a lingering sense of survivor’s guilt and unfulfilled promise behind his confident exterior. His time in the city later in the story is both thrilling and disorienting the realization of his childhood dream, yet one haunted by the ghost of the person who never got to see it.

Personality

Kyron is a blend of confidence, charm, and quiet wisdom. He’s quick with a witty remark or teasing comment, and his natural charisma makes him both a flirt and a friend to nearly everyone he meets. Though often sassy and playful, his humor usually masks deeper feelings a coping mechanism from years of loss and uncertainty.

He’s notably protective of his friends, often positioning himself as the “steady hand” when things get chaotic. Alongside Dante, he frequently acts as the voice of reason within the group, though his loyalty can sometimes cloud his judgment particularly when it comes to Isaac or the others he trusts deeply.

Kyron’s relationship with technology is complicated. Despite his fascination with the city’s modern advancements, he’s not especially tech-savvy, having grown up using only the bare essentials in the colonies. His curiosity often leads to amusing situations where he’s caught pretending to understand how something works when he clearly doesn’t.

Beneath his easygoing charm, Kyron carries a moral core shaped by the communal values of the colonies. He believes in earning what you have, taking care of your people, and staying true to your word even when it hurts. This makes him occasionally clash with the more cynical or self-serving members of the group.
