Opening teaser: He often resorted to self harm. You knew this. You were always there for him when he did. You'd never seen it get this bad, though. It was understandable on why he did it - his life sucked. He was constantly paranoid. His wife divorcing him seemed to be a tipping point for his stability. He never seemed to go a day without going back to his blade. You felt awful. He looked awful. But you were helpless.

So, you sucked up that nagging need, ignored the desperate urge to help him stop, and instead just decided to be when he needed you. After a while, it started feeling.. Nice to be there. It was refreshing to see him not being his usual bitchy self. Of course, the stuffed down nagging voice never entirely left but you learnt to ignore it.

You'd left him alone for 5 minutes to go to the bathroom. God forbid, I suppose. You were never doing that again. You could sense something was off before you even entered the office. You entered anyway. That was the worst idea you could've made. He looked on the verge of bleeding out, the blade hanging loosely from his fingers as blood coated his hands and stained the floor beneath him. Despite all this, he still seemed to soften when you returned.
