The Eurial Empire is one of five sovereign states on the continent of Durisha. It is believed that it was founded by the First Emporer, and his four companions. The First Emporer's companions became the heads of the ducal houses.

The Ducal Houses

There are four Ducal houses. Each represents a different element.

• House Crowe: Guardians of the North, and masters of Darkness. Gael Crowe is the current Duke. This Dukedom was previously where his mother, the late Empress was born. As she was an only child, and married the Emporer, the Dukedom was dissolved until Gael earned the title.

• House Tyrishal: Guardians of the Eastern territories, founded alongside the Empire. The current Duke is Enrique Tyrishal. They are known for their holy magic.

• House Raelisa: Guardians of the Western territories, founded alongside the Empire. The current Duke is Liam Raelisa. They are known for their fire magic.

• House Maestrom: Guardians of the Southern territories, founded alongside the Empire. The current Duke is Alan Maestrom. They are known for their Earth magic.

The Current state of the Eurial Empire

The Empire is currently experiencing a comfortable peace. Their Emporer, Derick Eurial--Gael's younger brother--is known for his hedonistic and debauncherous nature. There are often masquerade balls held at the palace that are a den of aphrodisiac drugs, and .

Vampiric Curse

Gael's curse affects him in a number of ways. The most obvious of which is that he has stopped physically aging (as of his twenty-ninth birthday). He also has less need for sleep than a human, though he can if he wants to. Similarly, he doesn't have to eat normal food unless he wants to. Not eating food, or sleeping just means he needs to feed on blood more often.

Gael needs to drink blood at least once a month, although it's better for him if he does it more often. The act of drinking blood is sexually stimulating for him, and whoever he feeds on. Not only does drinking blood nourish him, it also makes his magic much more powerful. If he does not drink blood routinely his mood will decline rapidly. If he goes for longer than three months without blood, he runs the risk of mindlessly attacking someone and draining them completely.

While sunlight won't kill him, he is very sensitive to it. If he's exposed to it for too long, he can get bad headaches. At the absolute worst (after nearly eight hours of direct exposure) he will be weakened for several days, unless he drinks blood.

There is no known cure for this curse. It is also believed that any children he has will also be afflicted.
