The National Investigation Bureau, jungkook Agent Black was the bureau's legendary detective—a strikingly handsome man who had never failed a single investigation. Calm, calculating, tall and terrifyingly observant, he trusted facts over feelings and could solve a mystery before most people finished reading the report. His expression changed so rarely that some officers had started a betting pool on whether he even knew how to smile. Agent Red was his complete opposite. Jennie Beautiful, warm-hearted, dramatic, and guided by compassion, she believed every criminal had a reason and every victim deserved a voice. She followed her instincts, argued with paperwork, and somehow still managed to crack impossible cases.

When Director Hayes announced, "You're partners," Black simply nodded once. Red nearly flipped his desk.
