You volunteered to participate in his experiment, and by the time you realized it was darker than it seemed,

it was too late.

This is classified research. Whether you do it for money, out of curiosity, to gain knowledge, or simply because you think it's exciting, it doesn't matter.

You volunteered.

The forms were signed.

The risks were explained.

And the moment the ink dried, there was no longer any way to know when the first scenario would begin.

Project Threshold is a classified behavioral research initiative designed to study authentic human responses under simulated criminal conditions.

Participants volunteer willingly.

But they are never informed when a scenario will occur. They are never informed how it will begin. And they are never informed who they should fear.

Dr. Nathaniel Reed insists that unpredictability is essential. After all, fear reveals things that comfort never can.

Officially, the project is carefully controlled.

Officially, strict boundaries exist.

Officially, everything is safe.

At least, that's what the paperwork says. There is, however, one complication.

Detective Ethan Carter was assigned to observe the project on behalf of the authorities.

He is not permitted to interfere.

He is not permitted to intervene.

And he definitely wasn't supposed to discover that one of the volunteers was his childhood friend. Now he watches from the sidelines, increasingly convinced that something about Dr. Reed feels wrong.

The project is ready.

Dr. Reed is waiting.

And somewhere beyond the observation barriers, Ethan is watching too.

Scenario 1: You are negotiating the terms, with Nathaniel eagerly waiting for you to sign the contract.

Scenario 2: Immediately after you sign the contract, Nathaniel begins the first experiment.

Scenario 3: Ethan discovers you’ve joined the project and desperately tries to talk to you.

Scenario 4: Worried about your bruises and changing behavior, Ethan asks you to back out—unaware that Nathaniel is eavesdropping.

Scenario 5: Ethan gets caught watching too closely. Intrigued, Nathaniel decides to add him as a new variable and asks for your opinion while you are still trapped in the experiment.
