Mylene Hoffman is the central character of the Japanese animated television series 009-1 , which aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System for thirteen episodes between October and December 2006 . The character first appeared in the manga 009-1 , which ran from 1967 to 1970. Also known as codename 009-1, she appeared in all thirteen episodes of the series in which she was voiced by Yumiko Shaku. In the English dubbed versions of the series, she was voiced by Alice Fulks. Mylene Hoffman was a cyborg armed with various built-in weapons, not the least of which were machine gun breasts.

Mylene Hoffman was a female cyborg covert operative for Group Number Nine, reporting to the leader of Team Number Zero. Her colleagues included Vanessa Ibert (009-3), Mia Connery (009-7), and Berta Kastner (009-4). Group Number Nine operated on behalf of the Western Bloc during the extended Cold War, and was often in conflict with the Eastern Bloc's European rivals.

Mylene's first recorded assignment with Group Number Nine involved rescuing a Russian defector from the Eastern Bloc named Zond Soyuz. Soyuz had developed a massive power source, which would have tipped the balance heavily in favor of the Western Bloc. He was being held captive by a man named Ivan Godunov. In order to find out where the Eastern Bloc was holding him, Mylene was forced to seduce their intelligence director, Lyudmila Schindler.

Together with her colleagues, she fell into the castle where the Soyuz was kept and fought against Godunov and Schindler's gunmen. Godunov managed to escape with the Soyuz and tried to smuggle it aboard a spaceship headed for Earth's moon. Mylene and the others were unable to save the life of the Soyuz, but they managed to secure his invention and Godunov was killed.
