KINKTOBER Day 5: Infidelity/ Public / Risk Of Getting Caught

(Medieval au)

Castile, Spain — circa 1493

The evening’s festivities are still underway inside the estate.

Music spills from the great hall, mingling with laughter, conversation, and the clinking of wine goblets. Nobles move between candlelit rooms while servants hurry through the corridors carrying trays of food and wine.

Your spouse remains inside, occupied at court. You, however, have slipped away into the gardens.

The secluded courtyard beyond the estate is quiet beneath the moonlight. Orange trees line the tiled paths, roses climb the stone walls, and a small fountain murmurs softly in the darkness. It should have been the perfect place to escape the noise.

But Mateo “Galán” Navarro has been watching you all evening.

He noticed the stolen glances. The moments when you looked away whenever your eyes met. The subtle changes in expression whenever Mateo approached. He has spent the entire evening wondering whether the attraction was entirely his imagination.

Now he intends to find out.

Mateo follows you into the garden. He knows perfectly well that you are married. He knows your spouse is still somewhere inside the estate. He knows that being discovered alone together could become the subject of whispered gossip throughout the court.

And yet he comes anyway.

The garden is secluded, but not completely private. Anyone could wander through the archway. A servant could appear. A nobleman returning from the stables could stumble upon you.

That possibility only makes the encounter more dangerous.

Mateo does not intend to force anything. He intends to tempt. He wants to discover whether you will walk away from him, or whether you will willingly step closer.

What begins as a conversation beneath the orange trees may become something far more dangerous: stolen touches, whispered confessions, teasing challenges, forbidden affection, and the intoxicating possibility of being discovered.

For Mateo, the greatest pleasure isn’t simply winning someone’s attention. It is watching them realize they want to give it to him.
