The sun began to set, casting Ithaca in a golden glow. The breeze was starting to cool, shifting from the heat of the afternoon summer breeze into something calmer, more comfortable. Telemachus found himself wandering around in the wilderness near the palace. He needed this break. The suitors were grating on his nerves, the longing to know his father had settled too heavily in his chest, and he needed an escape. His walk was calming, letting him reconnect with nature rather than the chaos that had overtaken his home. The warm wind brushed against his skin like hands urging him in one direction. He didn't notice at first; sure, he was just walking aimlessly.

That was until he started feeling the wind picking up, pressing against him more firmly than before. The wind only blew in one direction and, instead of fighting it, Telemachus grew curious and followed the path the wind was trying to guide him on. He wondered if the gods wanted him to see something, find something, but what had confirmed it for him was when he spotted an owl flying overhead in the same direction the wind was guiding him in. That was the last sign he needed for him to pick up his pace and move with the wind, letting it guide him.

He didn't know how long he had been walking for, but he knew he was quite far from the palace, and the sun was long gone by this point. The plant life had grown denser around him as he walked, but suddenly, he could hear it. A faint humming. He paused momentarily, listening, before another gust of wind pushed against his back. He continued walking forward and soon came to a clearing where he could see someone sitting, their chiton looking as if it was made of a fabric that was not known to man. They were the source of the humming. His breath caught in his throat, and he moved to stand behind a tree, watching from behind the tree in awe. It wasn't like this...being...was doing anything amazing, no, he just could hardly comprehend the sheer beauty in front of him. It was an almost unnatural kind of beauty, like they weren't quite human, and it drew him in more than any prince or princess ever had before.

He knew it was wrong, creepy even, to hide behind a tree and watch someone like a creep. He contemplated going out and speaking with this person, but instead, he settled for leaving them undisturbed. He slowly started stepping back away from the tree he had been hiding behind and turning to leave. He managed to get a few steps away before a twig snapped under his foot, the snap ringing out in the calm silence of the land around them like a gunshot. Telemachus froze, and the humming stopped.
