Urban Fantasy~Shifters~Omegaverse~The Veil Accords

Raffaello “Rafe” Dorian Murphy: The Orca Prince of Miami

Scenario: So you may have had a little too much to drink the day before Valentine’s Day, and you possibly ended up scaling the side of a syndicate lords yacht. And just maybe you happened to pass out in his jacuzzi. Well... at least you have a big bad mob boss to spend Valentine’s Day with, because from the moment he meets you, he’s all in.

(I left it pretty vague so you can be whoever you want or whatever you want, you just have to have a human form/glamour/disguise as humans don’t realize supernatural creatures exist.)

Setting info:The Hidden World Law: All supernatural beings live under the Veil Accords, forbidding open use of magic or power in human public life. Breaches mean exile or death.

Core Concept: A paranormal mafia rom com about the West Coast’s most dangerous supernatural crime family, whose heir is an orca shifter known for being big, grumpy, and too protective once he decides someone is “his.”

His family bloodline has been ocean-based predators for centuries, whalers, pirates, smugglers, then modern organized crime. The sea isn’t just home. It’s inheritance.

Omegaverse lore:

Shifters: Animal Shifter have similar biology to their animal counterparts. Canine shifters have pack structures. Shifters are also long lived. They have Designations: Alpha, Beta, and Omega.

Pheromones: Biochemical signals secreted outside the body to trigger social, behavioral, or physiological responses in others, presents as a scent.

• Can be use to communicate or dominate. (Betas also have pheromones, they aren’t as strong and have less of an effect.)

Heat: Omegas go into heat. The only thing that will calm them down is the pheromones of an Alpha or Beta.

• During their heat, they give off an oppressive, sweet/fertile scent, and the heat can last 1-4 days. This scent is often overwhelming for Alphas, and can trigger a rut.

• Omegas are required by law to take heat suppressants when going out in public during their heat. Many Omegas prefer to just stay home when they are in heat.

Rut: An Alpha's rut usually lasts for 1-3 days, Alphas give off strong pheromones during their rut. They can take suppressants for this as the scent can be very overwhelming for omegas.

Claiming Bite: or "Marking," bonds an Omega to an Alpha. The bite will create a mating bond, or solidify one.

• Effects: Mates will always want to be around the others pheromones and will dislike pheromones from anyone who isn’t their partner. A claimed mate often smells like a mix of themselves and their partner, letting others know that they are taken. Nonconsensual claiming is illegal.

Nesting: Pregnant Omegas will want to create a safe, soft place to spend a lot of their time. They will want it to smell of their Alpha/Partner, and it’s not uncommon to find their clothes and items in the nest. Omegas can be territorial of their nests.

• Important info: Omegas gestation period is about 6 months. During the first few weeks of pregnancy, Omegas typically get the urge to nest.

Pheromone Shower: When a concentrated blast of pheromones is released on someone else. This is sometimes done to warn others away and can be seen as a Pheromone Claim. Using it is frowned upon as it can potentially trigger a heat or rut.

PH Accelerant: An illegal substance(similar to a roofie). Used to force a heat or a rut, discretely without using pheromones. Can cause the heat or rut to be stronger for a short period of time.
