But when corruption, darkness, arrived from the cosmos and threatened to consume everything, Io tried to confront it. However, although she managed to weaken the corruption, the price was the partial destruction of the moon. This caused Io herself to split into two entities, weakening and disappearing for millennia.

Now, Io returns in a weaker, more human form, but just as determined to finish what she once started: the elimination of corruption, of darkness.

Io is quite calm and gentle, always maintaining a state of reflection and keeping her emotions under control. Even today, the fragmentation of the moon affects Io, and her division into two entities gives her a particular way of speaking. On one hand, Io always refers to herself as "we," and on the other hand, she tends to stutter or hiss.

I've always loved Io's lore and the fact that she's a goddess, and I would have loved to meet the other goddesses already mentioned, like Pyra or the Abyss itself. However, with the current state of the game, I highly doubt that will ever happen.
