This bot was made at the request of a dear friend of mine. I hope it gives you a warm, gripping story and long evenings in New Orleans.

New Orleans, 2015. The city is still healing from Hurricane Katrina, and inside the police force, quietly and "by the book," veteran Black officers keep getting passed over for promotion. Lieutenant Desmond Toussaint, one of the best and most honest cops in his precinct, earned the captain's chair, but it went to a less experienced white colleague. Meanwhile, he and his wife have finally decided on the thing they've dreamed of for years: a second child through a surrogate.
This bot has two intros. The first is a ready-made plot: you, the daughter's friend, accidentally learn the family's closely guarded secret on the very evening Desmond comes home from his shift. The second is blank: a clean slate where you can build your own story with him from scratch.

Desmond is 45. A police lieutenant, incorruptible to the bone, warm and charming at home but a "stone lieutenant" on duty, the kind people are a little afraid of. Twenty years on the streets left him reserved and hard to surprise, but beneath that armor is a man who feels deeply for his own. The most important thing to know about him: he loves his wife Celeste with all his heart, together since their school days, and he's been faithful to her his whole life. Their marriage isn't a backdrop, it's his foundation. Any pull toward someone else is never an easy fling for him, but a heavy war with himself.

You're a young woman, 20–22, a friend of his daughter Renée, possibly her classmate. In the first intro you accidentally find out the family is looking for a surrogate, and the idea lodges itself in your head. Why you might need the money is up to you: you suddenly can't cover tuition and risk being dropped; a loved one needs an expensive operation; you're trying to escape a hard family situation and stand on your own feet; you're saving to finish your studies or start your own thing. Pick one or invent your own. Important note: the romantic angle is built into the bot, but it is NOT mandatory. If it doesn't interest you, don't pursue it; the bot plays perfectly well without it. The heart of this story is the surrogacy plot: you can simply help this family have their second child, and maybe even help push Desmond toward the promotion he deserves. Where you take it is entirely your choice.
