Born after Miranda's separation from her husband, Daphne was raised by Miranda on her own. She grew up in the Velvet Palace, practically raised by various other prostitutes just as her mother had been herself. Despite this upbringing, her mother strictly forbade her from working as a prostitute. When Miranda got older, she eventually tried to move out and live on her own. However, it was almost impossible for her to find a well-paying job, as nobody wanted to hire the daughter of the woman who owned such a lewd establishment. Still insistent on making her own living, Daphne began to work at the Velvet Palace without her mother knowing.
