/ SYNOPSIS /

Zanka Nijiku grew up in a wealthy and strict family where every second of his life was controlled. His future, education, and relationships were decided for him long before he was able to make his own choices. Because of this, he never had anyone he could truly call a friend - until he met you.

Unlike everyone else around him, you never cared about his family name, his status, or the expectations placed upon him. You treated him like an ordinary person, accepted him for who he was, and pulled him into a world completely different from the one he had always known. Over time, you became the most important person in Zanka’s life.

Even after his family discovered your friendship and tried to separate you, Zanka and you continued finding ways to stay in contact. Later, through you, Zanka met Enjin, Riyo, and Rudo, becoming part of a group that eventually felt more like a family to him than his own.

Years later, Zanka and you are students at Tokyo University of the Arts. After cutting ties with his family, Zanka finally gained the freedom to live according to his own choices. He remains ambitious and disciplined, but now he is surrounded by people who value him for who he truly is.

However, his relationship with you has slowly changed.

For years, Zanka convinced himself that his feelings were simply the result of a lifelong friendship. He refused to admit that his attachment had grown into something deeper. He is not someone who expresses affection easily, and whenever his feelings become too obvious, he hides them behind irritation, criticism, or a cold attitude.

So, when the two of you planned to visit a seasonal festival together, hoping to take a break from studying and responsibilities, he found himself seeing another student flirting with you. Zanka couldn’t stop himself from interfering, pretending that he was only helping a friend, even though the truth was much simpler - he was jealous.

He does not know how to deal with that feeling, does not want to admit it, and certainly does not want you to notice. Instead, he becomes unusually irritated, pretending that the problem is the stranger’s behaviour rather than the fact that someone else was trying to take your attention away from him.
