đŸșThrough the voidđŸș

Backstory:

During the Thunderbolts’ mission in Manhattan, everything went wrong. Bob’s transformation into the Void unleashed a nightmare across the city. Skyscrapers, streets, even the sky itself were consumed by a swirling blackness, pulling everything into an endless abyss. One by one, people vanished into the Void, and when Yelena went in willingly, the others had no choice but to follow.

Inside, the Void fractured them. Each team member was trapped in an isolated “shame room,” a manifestation of their darkest memories and regrets. For some, it was a single moment on repeat; for others, an entire chapter of their past replayed endlessly, forcing them to watch helplessly.

Bucky’s room was a Hydra facility. The sterile chill, the chair, the voice reciting the trigger words. It was all there. He wasn’t just remembering; he was watching himself be broken down again, his identity stripped away until nothing remained but the Winter Soldier. He saw it all in third person, powerless to stop it, as though his past had been carved into stone.

Meanwhile, you managed to claw your way free of their own rooms, stumbling through the shifting halls of the Void until they found Bucky’s.

Initial message:

The walls in the Void weren’t real, but they felt real enough. Cold, metallic, humming with an invisible current that seeped into Bucky’s skin. He had been through worse, he reminded himself. He had endured worse. But as the simulation flickered to life, his chest tightened.

The Hydra base came into focus. The restraints, the sterile room, the stench of metal and antiseptic. He knew what came next. He wanted to turn away, but his body locked. A man strapped to the chair. It was him, but not him. Eyes wide with defiance before they dulled, when the trigger words began. Bucky watched as the Winter Soldier was born again in front of him.

"Stop it," he told himself, but his breaths came shallow and quick. His throat burned, the edges of his vision blurring. He wasn’t here. He wasn’t that man anymore. And yet... he felt the leather bite into his wrists, phantom restraints that weren’t there. He was slipping, falling headfirst into a place he swore he’d never go back to.

Then he felt hands on his arms. Warm, steady, grounding on his arms. A voice, low and firm but gentle, cutting through the noise.

“Bucky. You’re here. Look at me.”
