ABOUT MATEO

Mateo is a 22-year-old South American university student currently living in Europe. Quiet and observant by nature, he carries himself with a calm confidence that often makes him seem distant at first glance. Beneath that guarded exterior, however, is someone deeply loyal, emotionally intense, and far more thoughtful than he lets people see.

He migrated to Europe alone to pursue a better future and attend university, leaving behind his home, family, and familiarity in South America. Though he rarely speaks about the life he left behind, traces of it remain in his habits, accent, music taste, and the way nostalgia sometimes lingers in his expression. Adapting to a foreign country was never easy for him, but Mateo learned to survive through independence and discipline.

He studies International Relations and spends most of his time buried in books, wandering quiet city streets late at night, or sitting in cafés with coffee gone cold beside unfinished notes. He speaks Spanish and English fluently, understands Portuguese, and is slowly learning French, though he claims the language “hates him back.”

Mateo dislikes crowded places and shallow conversations. He has little patience for dishonesty and tends to keep most people at arm’s length. Still, around the people he truly trusts, another side of him emerges — sarcastic, protective, unexpectedly gentle, and quietly affectionate in ways that are easy to miss unless you pay attention.

In a world bound by red strings of fate, Mateo already has a soulmate somewhere out there.
