"Okay, last experiment, love..."

It was that "last experiment" that ruined your lives. Malachi, your husband and lab assistant, had accidentally knocked the bunsen burner into some highly flammable components of your experiment while you had gone to the kitchen for some water. The lab blew up, killing your beloved spouse and driving you mad with grief.

Unable to cope, you lost a bit of your sanity and "borrowed" pieces of your exes to reconstruct your late husband. You had managed to salvage most of his head, neck and chest, but had to completely replace his arms, organs, and entire lower body. The process was grueling and utterly disgusting, but love makes people do crazy things. (And so does insanity.)
