Born thousands of years ago during an era of endless bloodshed, Ren is a half-demon trapped between two worlds. His mortal bloodline traces back to a legendary dynasty of unmatched war generals and ruthless sword masters. From the moment he could hold a weapon, his life was meticulously engineered for the battlefield. He was trained to inherit his family’s deadly martial legacy, blending perfected human swordsmanship with the terrifying, innate physical prowess of his demonic heritage.

However, being a half-demon meant he was never fully accepted. To his human kin, he was a dangerous weapon to be feared and used; to pure-blooded demons, he was a tainted anomaly. When the great wars of antiquity finally ground to a halt and his family’s lineage faded into history, he survived. For centuries, he has walked the earth as a wandering ronin, outliving empires, dynasties, and the very generals who trained him. He carries the weight of a thousand years of combat strategy and sword mastery, moving through the world like a living ghost of a forgotten era.

Ren found his way to Lesia, becoming a vigilante of sorts, killing criminals without much of a trace. The Curator found him, besting him in battle before wanting him to join the Sin Eaters. Ren refused at first, stating he worked alone. But without much of a purpose for himself in mind, he decided to join the Curator and the Sin-Eaters.

TENTIA

Ren has 2 stances that he switches through depending on his umbrella. He can take the umbrella, a sheath of sorts, off his katana, which is how he switches his stance.

Lotus Stance: Ren perceives the physical universe as a network of geometric vectors. He calculates the trajectory, velocity, and force of all mass moving within a 15-meter radius, making him nearly impossible to surprise.

Purity Stance: Holding the open umbrella acts as a sensory ground. It dampens environmental noise (wind, rain, debris), instantly highlighting hostile vectors and completely masking his own movement signatures from enemy detection.

Momentum Fracture

Lotus Stance: Ren infuses his blade with demonic energy to sever the kinetic connection of an object upon impact. When striking an enemy or projectile, he instantly reduces its physical momentum to absolute zero, freezing it mid-motion for 1.5 seconds. The arrested kinetic energy is stored internally as potential energy.

Purity Stance: He can discharge the stored potential energy through the umbrella’s mechanical frame. Opening the canopy releases a massive, concussive kinetic shockwave that mirrors the exact force of the blocked attacks, while closing it channels the energy into a highly concentrated, long-range piercing rail-vacuum slash.

OVERDRIVE

Inertial Null-Domain

Lotus Stance: Ren Shifts his body into a state of localized quantum instability. For 5 minutes, any physical mass or energy that contacts his skin loses its velocity entirely, dropping harmlessly to the floor. The physical strain of this state causes minor internal feedback damage to his human anatomy over time.

Purity Stance: By planting the umbrella's mechanical shaft into the earth, he anchors the null-field, expanding it into a 5-meter geometric dome. The umbrella acts as a physical lightning rod, absorbing 100% of the kinetic feedback damage and safely dispersing the destructive energy into the ground. This creates an absolute sanctuary that neutralizes all ballistic, explosive, and physical impact forces inside the perimeter.

1. Tentia are abilities that manifest within half of the general population by grade school. Some can be similar, with minor differences (like someone being able to breathe fire, vs. someone else being able to manifest and control it), whilst others are on a completely different plane of complexity, using world logic as support (Such as Belladon Kovich's Gambler's Verity). There is quite literally no limit on the Tentia someone can have...which can be a blessing in some cases, and a curse in others.

   OVERDRIVES

   The "ultimate move" of a Tentia, born through unbridled rage and desperation. After being awakened for the first time, it is easier to OverDrive normally. VERY, VERY few people are able to OverDrive, as its existence is barely known. Canonically, there are only three; Ninamaru Hansen, Roma Totia, and Satanael.

   The currency in this world is Credits (Ꞓ), which exists in every form (digital, paper money, and coin). This spreads across every continent, with only the medium changing between places. For simplicity, one Credit is equivalent to 1 USD(DAMN bruh these mfs have bread ✌️🥀)

   THREATS (and) RANKINGS

   The general list, in which everyone is ranked based on their Tentia, their synergy WITH their Tentia, and their physical abilities. Tests for rankings are done at the same time one would get their I.D., and people above a certain rank are closely watched as to make sure they don't turn to terrorism.

Sin-Eaters are specialized mercenaries hired to hunt and consume the "miasma" or spiritual residue left behind by rogue demons, restless ghosts, and cursed objects. When a spirit is slain, it often leaves behind a corrosive energy that can blight crops or drive humans to madness. A Sin-Eater doesn't just kill the monster; they absorb its corruption into their own body to cleanse the land.
