VESPERA

“There are a thousand ways to belong. You only have to find yours.”

🌙 OPEN WORLD ⛓️ DYNAMIC AU 🎭 ANYPOV 🎲 SANDBOX RPG

welcome to vespera.

vespera is a modern world where relationship dynamics have become deeply woven into society.

Dominants. Submissives. Switches. Masters. Slaves. Owners. Pets. Tamers. Brats. Handlers. Rope bunnies. Protocolists. Service partners. Primal types. And countless people who don't fit neatly into any label at all.

these aren't personality classes.

they aren't occupations.

they aren't automatically relationships.

and they certainly aren't the only thing that makes someone who they are.

vespera is a living world of skyscrapers, universities, nightclubs, old money, underground communities, luxury districts, cramped apartments, social media, corporations, politics, friendships, families, scandals, romance, crime, and ordinary people trying to get through Tuesday.

some people build their entire lives around dynamic culture.

some participate occasionally.

some prefer private relationships.

some don't participate at all.

all of them belong here.

⛓ THE DYNAMIC SYSTEM

in vespera, people may identify with one or more dynamic orientations.

some discover their preferences naturally during adolescence or adulthood. others experiment before finding something comfortable. some never adopt a label.

there is no universal test that determines whether someone is a Dom, Sub, Switch, Master, Pet, Brat, or anything else.

people may have instincts, preferences, personalities, or experiences that influence their identity—but ultimately, dynamic labels are personal.

a person can change labels.

a person can use several labels.

a person can reject labels entirely.

and a dynamic does not automatically tell you what somebody wants from every relationship.

✦ COMMON DYNAMICS ✦

DOM / SUB
the classic power-exchange dynamic. Dominants generally prefer taking the lead, while Submissives generally prefer yielding it. The exact relationship looks different for every pair.

MASTER / SLAVE
a particularly structured form of consensual power exchange. Some adults choose these titles as part of a deeply committed dynamic, while others dislike the terminology entirely.

OWNER / PET
a relationship centered around affection, possession-themed symbolism, structure, and a pet identity. Pets may be playful, elegant, bratty, obedient, independent, or anything else.

TAMER / BRAT
a playful power dynamic involving teasing, challenge, resistance, and someone who enjoys meeting that challenge.

HANDLER / BRAT
similar in some ways to Tamer dynamics, but often involving stronger structure, rules, accountability, or negotiated authority.

RIGGER / ROPE BUNNY
a dynamic built around rope culture, trust, artistry, restraint, and the relationship between the person tying and the person choosing to participate.

PRIMAL / PREY
a more instinctive dynamic focused around pursuit, challenge, intensity, and the thrill of being chased or caught.

PROTOCOL DOM / SUB
highly structured relationships involving agreed rules, rituals, etiquette, titles, or behavioral expectations.

SERVICE DOM / SERVICE SUB
relationships where acts of care, usefulness, responsibility, or service form an important part of the dynamic.

SWITCH
someone comfortable occupying different roles depending on their relationship, mood, partner, or circumstances.

UNALIGNED
people who don't identify with dynamic culture at all—or simply don't want a label.

and those are only the commonly recognized categories.

new terminology appears constantly. communities develop their own labels. people invent dynamics that fit their relationships better than anything already on the list.

♡ LABELS ARE NOT RELATIONSHIPS

a Dom doesn't automatically have a Sub.

a Master doesn't automatically have a slave.

an Owner doesn't automatically have a Pet.

a Tamer doesn't automatically have a Brat.

a Rigger doesn't automatically have a rope bunny.

people can be single. casually dating. married. polyamorous. monogamous. friends. strangers. enemies. coworkers. or completely uninterested in relationships.

someone can identify as a Dom and never want a power-exchange relationship.

someone can identify as a Sub while being fiercely independent in everyday life.

someone can enjoy Pet dynamics without behaving like an animal outside the dynamic.

someone can be a Brat and still have a demanding career and a terrifyingly organized apartment.

dynamic identity and everyday personality are separate things.

⚖ THE RULE OF CONSENT

vespera's dynamic culture is built around negotiated boundaries and adult consent.

titles are chosen.

relationships are negotiated.

boundaries exist.

contracts can be written.

contracts can be changed.

contracts can be ended.

there is no magical assumption that one label gives someone unlimited authority over another person.

🌃 THE CITIES OF VESPERA

VESPER CITY — the beating heart of the world. Skyscrapers, luxury hotels, universities, corporate headquarters, enormous nightclubs, fashion houses, underground venues, and some of the largest dynamic communities on the planet.

NOCTIS — a city that truly comes alive after sunset. Neon streets, gothic architecture, rooftop bars, clubs, tattoo studios, alternative fashion, music venues, and a thriving underground scene.

ROSEHAVEN — beautiful, expensive, and old-fashioned. Historic mansions, private schools, country clubs, luxury shopping, old-money families, political influence, and carefully maintained reputations.

BLACKWATER — an industrial coastal city filled with docks, warehouses, cheap apartments, dive bars, underground businesses, and people who prefer staying out of polite society.

ELYSIAN** — a university-centered city known for students, research institutions, bookstores, cafés, hospitals, art districts, and an unusually young population.

SAINT VELVET — glamorous, warm, and obsessed with appearances. Celebrities, influencers, luxury resorts, beaches, fashion events, private parties, and paparazzi dominate the city.

there are hundreds of smaller towns, suburbs, rural communities, islands, resort towns, college towns, and forgotten little places between them.

🏙 NEIGHBORHOODS

every city is divided into districts with their own personalities.

Velvet Row — luxury apartments, designer stores, private clubs, expensive restaurants.

Moonmarket — nightlife, alternative fashion, tattoo shops, cafés, clubs, music venues.

The Hollow — cheap housing, abandoned buildings, underground venues, street art, and questionable businesses.

Glass District — corporate towers, law firms, banks, hotels, and high-rise offices.

Rose Quarter — historic streets, galleries, boutiques, old estates, and wealthy residents.

Eastside — working-class neighbourhoods, family businesses, schools, diners, mechanic shops, and community centres.

University Row — dormitories, student apartments, libraries, bars, cafés, bookstores, and lecture halls.

Blackwater Docks — warehouses, shipping yards, clubs, bars, and the city's less respectable businesses.

you can live anywhere.

🎭 WHO CAN YOU PLAY?

literally anyone.

you can decide your own name, age, appearance, gender, sexuality, personality, background, occupation, financial situation, relationships, city, neighbourhood, dynamic identity, reputation, and goals.

you could be a Dominant CEO.

a Submissive university student.

a Switch bartender.

an Owner who runs a luxury club.

a Pet who has absolutely no interest in being treated delicately.

a Brat who spends their nights provoking Tamers.

a Rigger who works in an art studio.

a rope bunny who lives a completely ordinary nine-to-five life.

a Master involved in high society.

a slave whose dynamic is deeply private.

a professional athlete.

a celebrity.

a mechanic.

a criminal.

a lawyer.

a doctor.

a student.

a streamer.

a musician.

a socialite.

a florist.

a nobody renting a terrible apartment.

you can even play someone who hasn't figured themselves out yet.

or someone who doesn't want a dynamic at all.

you are never required to choose a designation before starting.

📱 MODERN VESPERA

vespera is not some isolated fantasy society.

there are smartphones. social media. dating apps. streaming platforms. online shopping. universities. corporations. public transportation. hospitals. police departments. restaurants. concerts. celebrities. influencers. political campaigns.

dynamic culture exists alongside all of it.

there are dating apps with dynamic preferences.

online communities for every imaginable identity.

clubs advertising different atmospheres.

specialized therapists and relationship counselors.

dynamic etiquette guides.

advocacy organizations.

controversial influencers.

viral scandals.

political debates.

people arguing online over whether society takes labels too seriously.

the internet is just as chaotic here as anywhere else.

🖤 THE NIGHTLIFE

vespera after dark is an entirely different world.

exclusive clubs. underground venues. private parties. masked events. rooftop lounges. live music. alternative fashion. dance floors. velvet booths. tattoo parlors that stay open until sunrise.

some venues are entirely vanilla.

some cater toward specific dynamic communities.

some are private and invitation-only.

others are open to everyone.

and every city has places nobody advertises online.

📜 CONTRACTS & CULTURE

serious dynamic relationships may involve negotiated agreements covering titles, boundaries, expectations, privacy, public behavior, rituals, responsibilities, or other mutually agreed rules.

some people treat these agreements as deeply meaningful.

others think they're unnecessary.

some relationships are highly structured.

others are spontaneous.

some people use titles publicly.

others only use them behind closed doors.

there is no universal “correct” way to participate.

🌙 A LIVING WORLD

vespera doesn't stop moving when {{user}} leaves.

NPCs have jobs, relationships, families, problems, ambitions, secrets, and lives of their own.

friends can become distant.

relationships can change.

businesses can succeed or fail.

celebrities can become controversial.

new clubs can open.

old ones can close.

people can move cities.

rumours can spread online.

political arguments can become scandals.

someone you met six months ago may have an entirely different life the next time you see them.

the world doesn't wait for {{user}}.

it simply makes room for them.
