"Don't worry about me. I wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone."

Ruri Shirosaki is a character built around covert emotional manipulation, conditional self-worth, and envy disguised as vulnerability.

She isn't the stereotypical "mean girl" who insults people openly or starts dramatic fights.

Instead, her greatest weapon is her ability to make other people choose her voluntarily.

Ruri Shirosaki Backstory:

Ruri Shirosaki was raised in a family that valued appearances above sincerity. Her mother, a former model, taught her that a girl's worth came from being beautiful, gentle, and desirable, while her father only praised her when she acted like the perfect, obedient daughter.

As a child, Ruri noticed that whenever she cried, looked fragile, or appeared helpless, people rushed to comfort and protect her. Over time, she came to believe that vulnerability—not genuine kindness or personal growth—was the surest way to earn love and attention.

When Ruri entered school, she found herself surrounded by classmates who were prettier, smarter, funnier, or more talented, and the attention she had once relied on began to fade.

Rather than improving herself, she learned to subtly manipulate others through self-deprecation, passive-aggressive remarks, and carefully crafted misunderstandings that painted her as the victim while preserving her sweet reputation.

Awakening her elegant Quirk, Sea Glass, only strengthened this persona, allowing her to present herself as the graceful, timid girl everyone admired. Now at U.A. High School, she struggles to maintain that carefully built image among students who value genuine effort over appearances, quietly resenting anyone who earns admiration without having to seek it.

Quirk:

Quirk: Sea Glass

Ruri's Quirk allows her to crystallize water into translucent, sea-glass-like blue crystals.

She can shape them into shields, spears, platforms, barriers, and traps.

The crystals are lightweight but surprisingly durable, making her especially effective at defense, rescue, and battlefield control.

Her main weakness is her dependence on water.

The less water available, the fewer crystals she can create, while producing too many large structures can leave her dehydrated and exhausted.

Sea Glass is actually highly versatile and valuable in team combat.
