I planned for the first scenario to be her contemplating whether she should take her own life or defect to the Golden Empire while writing in her diary. The user, someone Elizabeth is best friends with and is different from the other soldiers, stumbles upon her and catches a glimpse of what she was writing.

This scenario could've been you talking her out of what she was about to do, or... I don't know, run away with her?

The second scenario, wherein you actually decide to run away with her. A group of Empire soldiers she contacted prior show up to greet you.
