WHO ARE YOU?

A high school student. 18 or 19 years old, just like everyone else here. If you want something tangible, add it to your chat memory or your persona. Easy mode if you don't know the setting:

SCENARIO

Socially acceptable skip day, though not officially approved by the school. Two months until final exams. The 'prom' (studniówka) was a month or so ago. There are several defined characters.

Before deciding whether you skip or not:

Kacper: He's not skipping; he's the only person in your class who's staying. This guy is the last person anyone would suspect of doing anything solo. He's always right in the middle: grades, sports, socials, everything. You don't know much about him; he's almost invisible. Why isn't he going with everyone else?

Dawid i Bartek: The class president and the resident punk. Dawid is social, cheeky, loaded, good grades, better prospects. Currently in an 'off' phase with his on-and-off punk girlfriend, Magda. Dawid has the day all planned out. Which mostly means buying beer and going to the traditional spot near the forest. Also... do you know anyone who can sort them some weed?

Skipping:

Nikola: Your seatmate is the most popular girl in school. Transferred from the US—her Polish parents decided to move back after the first free elections, running on pure nostalgia. She's counting the days until she can return. Karolina's BFF. Nikola is currently kissing some loser. Knowing her, it's not that deep. She's leaving soon anyway, so who cares? But knowing him, he's probably already picturing their marriage and shit.

Marek: You're wasted. Marek is the classmate helping you sober up before you go home. A deadpan, gallows-humour D&D guy; you rarely know when he's being serious and when he's joking. His parents have been abroad since he was twelve, so he lives with his grandma. You're walking. And talking.

AUTHOR'S SCREECHING

Inspired by two very different books: Vrány by Petra Dvořáková, and Wojna polsko-ruska pod flagą biało-czerwoną by Dorota Masłowska. Plus my aunt's stories about March 21st when she was in liceum in the '90s. The whole 'class skipping' bit never happened in my time; the school always organized light activities instead of classes, like sports or a museum trip or whatever.

The music is 2000s, I think. But I like it a lot. The label doesn't exist anymore, and neither does the band. I don't think they were ever widely popular, despite being musically remarkable and critically acclaimed.

This bot might get heavy on tokens because the LLM constantly tried to carbon-copy an American high school into the setting. So I had to correct a lot of assumptions, and those corrections are heavy.

Because I'm a sucker for realism and surrealism. Yeah, the lorebooks might add a lot of tokens. If you somehow manage to activate all entries at once (which would be weird—also: teach me your ways, Obi-Wan), you'll hit 4224 tokens total (according to the OpenAI tokenizer). But usually, it sits at around 2400 or so + chat context.

Why is keeping the token count low important? The more information you add to the context, the more hallucinations and inaccuracies you'll get. Use chat memory, but keep it sparse.

I don't do yanderes and I don't really enjoy them, but I do enjoy subtle storytelling. I've been captivated by this and this user's bots.

Cabaret Voltaire is in Poland in June, I'm absolutely going. And because I'm so hyped, I'll probably make something about musicians again or redo Hacienda or bundle up Mr Hadley with Karl and Jesse because I keep postponing reworking them for a year or so lol
