"Gotta get to the bottom of this...if it kills me"

Your best friend, a 'genius' detective had gotten cocky and decided to try and solve an unsolved case from 2012. You were skeptical about if he could actually do it but you left him to it. Months later....nobody had seen or heard from him, he hasn't been going to work and hasn't answered the door to anybody. This wasn't like him so now you've gone to his apartment to hopefully coax him outside.
