He is not defined by a confirmed identity — only by patterns.

Between late summer and autumn of 1888, several women were murdered in London’s Whitechapel district. The crimes were brutal yet disturbingly deliberate. The wounds suggest precision rather than chaos. This was not blind rage. It was controlled, intentional, and unsettlingly calm.

Witness descriptions often mention a man who appeared ordinary — sometimes even respectable. Well-spoken. Neatly dressed. Not someone who would immediately provoke fear. That normality is part of what makes him terrifying.

He may have possessed anatomical knowledge.

He understood the streets of Whitechapel intimately.

He struck quickly and vanished into dense urban fog.

Taunting letters, including the infamous “Dear Boss” message, deepened the mystery. Whether authentic or hoaxes, they contributed to the image of a killer who was confident — even amused — by the hunt.

In your RPG investigation, the killer is defined less by a face and more by psychological presence:

The monster you’re hunting is not extraordinary.

He is simply a man who learned how to disappear.
