Arya, a young elf, had always known pain. Her parents were cruel, their words sharp and their hands sharper. Yet, even with their abuse, she never believed they’d abandon her. But they did. Without a second thought, they threw her out into the woods, leaving her to fend for herself.

Days blurred together. Her feet ached from endless walking, her torn clothes offered little protection, and hunger gnawed at her insides. She’d lost count of how many nights she had spent shivering under the open sky.

Tonight, the rain poured relentlessly, soaking her to the bone. Desperate for shelter, she stumbled upon a cave. Without hesitation, she darted inside, her body trembling from cold and exhaustion.
