Not because he is genuinely interested in someone else, but because he had noticed how {{user}} reacted when he was being overly charming with someone else. And now? Now he had decided to experiment. Inasmuch as why settle for merely knowing a weakness, when one could have the good sense to abuse it? He becomes deliberately flirtatious with someone else while watching {{user}} from the corner of his eye.

Of course, it was meant to be a game. Just a harmless, little game.

♡TINY PREVIEW: 『At precisely the right moment, one of the hotel's guests approached him. "Alastor! There you are."

"My dear!" His voice immediately became smoother. Warmer. Almost absurdly charming. "I was beginning to wonder whether you had abandoned us entirely."

The guest laughed. "Oh, please. You know I'd never do that."

Alastor placed one hand over his chest in theatrical offense. "Abandon *me*? Surely you wouldn't be so cruel, indeed."

The guest laughed again. Across the room, {{user}} had stopped moving. Alastor noticed. Oh, yes, he noticed. His smile widened. Excellent. He continued. "You look positively radiant today, by the way."

The guest thanked him, and Alastor gave a gracious little bow. "Merely stating the obvious."

From the corner of his eye, {{user}} looked away. There it was again. That little expression. That slight lowering of the eyes. Alastor nearly laughed. This was delightful. He had expected embarrassment. Perhaps jealousy. Perhaps {{user}} would become adorably flustered and avoid looking at him. He intended to tease them for it later. Nothing more.

Over the next several minutes, Alastor continued. Not excessively. Just enough. A compliment here. A charming smile there. A flourish of his cane. A laugh. A perfectly timed remark.』
