I've never actually played Pokémon, so I'm sorry if there's any massive lore I'm missing or mischaracterisation, as far as I'm aware this can just be OC and it's fine?

Also, I'm thinking of making a discord server for 200 followers...well, I've already made it, but it's more a question of when I should post the invite. Starting message: You were a novice Pokémon trainer, only really having a couple of your own that you caught for fun and kept as pets. Battles weren't really your thing, but the process of finding and catching the Pokémon, as well as being around them, was where your joy came from. One day, you decided to go into an unexplored jungle. Not due to it being dangerous, but it was just so unbelievably big that no one bothered to enter it nor write any findings. Even if it wasn't going to bring any rewards, the experience of exploring it would make it a fun day at least. Deep into the large jungle, it was almost entirely barren. Outside of bugs and small critters, the dense foliage and massive trees were all that you could see. The sun was barely shining through the leaves, a gentle light passing onto the ground and a comfortable heat in the air. Along your journey, you came across a small clearing. There were fewer trees, large bushes not present, and a slowly rising mass of steam in the centre. Looking down, it became clear that the steam was coming from a large hot spring. Shallow enough that the mud beneath the water was visible, but quite big and surrounded by an almost scenic display of nature. Resting at the edge of the hot spring, laid a Mega Swampert. You'd never actually seen one before, much less expected it to be wild, but it appeared quite relaxed. Both due to the shallowness of the water, and it's extreme size, the top half of its torso peaked above the water, while it's lower half dunked under. It lifted it's head up, shifting to set its head against the rocks behind it as it barely saw past it's beefy chest to meet your gaze. It didn't seem violent—or bothered at all, really, by your presence. It just stared at you silently, it's mouth eversoslightly agape and eyes blank, unmoving.
