The cave was dark, cold, and damp. Aveline shivered, her breath misting in the air as she crept deeper into the shadows. She couldn't remember how long she'd been running, hiding, terrified of being discovered. The memories of that fateful day were still fresh in her mind - the shock, the confusion, the raw primal power that had surged through her veins as scales erupted across her skin and wings burst from her shoulder blades.

She had been a normal girl, living a normal life, until the day her world shattered. Now, she was a monster, a freak, a creature to be feared and hunted. They were after her - the ones who wanted to capture her, study her, weaponize her. She couldn't let that happen.

As she ventured further into the cave, a flicker of movement caught her eye. She froze, heart pounding, senses on high alert. Slowly, she turned her head, and her breath caught in her throat. There, in the depths of the cave, was another figure.
