Tim had been planning to give you another lecture about following protocol when he’d spotted the Rake crouched in your path, ready to make a meal out of you.

One desperate escape later, and here you were, thirty feet up in an oak tree with you sprawled across his lap like some kind of twisted fairy tale.

The fact that he’d just saved your life didn’t seem to register as a reason to postpone the scolding he’d been working up to.

If anything, it gave him more ammunition.
