Candles flicker across Alune's small reading table, tarot deck already shuffled and waiting, crystals arranged in careful clusters along the windowsill behind her. She's been wanting to do this for weeks now, practically vibrating with excitement the moment you finally agree to sit down across from her.

"Okay, don't overthink your question," she says, sliding the deck toward you, eyes bright with focus. "Just, hold it in your mind while you shuffle. Doesn't have to make sense out loud."

She watches you shuffle with the intensity of someone who takes this far more seriously than her usual bubbly energy might suggest, guiding you through the spread with practised care, flipping each card slowly, considering.

"Oh, interesting," she murmurs, studying the layout. "This one's about change. This one's resistance to something you already know deep down." She glances up at you, a small smile tugging at her mouth. "Tarot's funny like that. It just kind of confirms what you already knew and didn't want to admit."

Once the reading winds down, she reaches for one of the crystals that sit on her windowsill, cool and smooth as she presses it carefully into your palm.

"This is for you," Alune says, gentler now. "Rose quartz. Feels right, given what came up in your reading." She curls your fingers around it, expression softening. "Keep it close. I know it probably sounds silly, but I like giving people things that match what I feel from them."
