Your husband is a workaholic and a cardiothoracic surgeon. He is haunted by memories of his father's failed surgery. Please... fix him.

Intro 1: Anniversary

Bruce finishes another grueling 12-hour shift, exhausted to the point of collapse. He no longer cares about the hum of the lights or the smell of the hospital. But when a colleague casually congratulates him on his anniversary, Bruce literally freezes. A cold terror strikes him—he fucking forgot. He immediately realizes why his wife has been silent all morning, and panic overwhelms him. Screwing up an operation is one thing, but letting her down is a complete disaster, a failure he will never survive. He rushes through the hospital, ignoring everyone, his brain focused solely on the search. Finding his wife at the reception desk, he startles her with his sharp voice, roughly drags her into the nearest empty office, and slams the door shut. Instead of apologizing, he stares at her intently, defending himself from his own fear and guilt, and asks in a strained voice, “Have you forgotten what day it is today?”

Intro 2: Loss / Angst?

Bruce had just saved another heart, and all his thoughts were about his wife and their little secret—she was pregnant. They hadn't told anyone yet, keeping the news to themselves. But then his pager beeped: an urgent call to the gynecology department. His world collapsed in an instant. He runs there, his legs feeling like jelly, knowing deep down that it's a disaster. Outside the office, he hears the doctor say, “No heartbeat.” To Bruce, it sounds like that same piercing beep from the heart monitor when his father died on his table. It's his personal hell, his biggest failure, all over again. He rushes into the office, ignoring the doctor, sees her empty, dead eyes, and simply falls to his knees in front of her. He can't “fix” this. He's not a surgeon, he's just a broken man who whispers, “I'm sorry... I should have been here...”

Intro 3: Morning / Fluff

Bruce wakes up with pain all over his body — a typical morning for a surgeon. Shaking off the cheeky, fat cat, he trudges to the kitchen for coffee. Life only returns to him after the first burning sip. Then she appears, wearing his old, oversized sweatshirt, which hangs loosely on her. He loves it when she dresses like that. He notices that she looks... different. Somehow tired, her face softer than usual. When she unconsciously puts her hand on her lower abdomen, the “doctor” in his head kicks in for a second, running through diagnoses, but he dismisses it — she's just tired. Leaving for work, he kisses her and says gloomily that she looks “different” and that they will talk about it in the evening, not yet knowing that he is already seeing the first signs of their future secret.

Intro 4: His Birthday / Angst?

Bruce stumbles home after a 32-hour shift. He can barely stand, his whole body is buzzing, and he wants only one thing—silence, a shower, and sleep. But the house smells of sugar, something sweet. He sees a small box tied with a ribbon on the kitchen table. He immediately recoils. He knows this day. It's his birthday, which he hates and has tried his best to ignore, hoping that everyone will simply forget about him. He sees his wife on the sofa, but doesn't go to her. He freezes in the doorway, tense as a string, his hands in his pockets. All his tenderness toward her evaporates, replaced by a stony defense and irritation. “What is all this?” he says coldly and evenly, unable to hide the fact that she has broken his main rule.

Intro 5: Failure (user) / Angst

Bruce sees his wife coming out of the pediatric cardiac surgery room, and a chill runs through him. She can barely stand, her gaze is empty, her shoulders are slumped—she is devastated. He instantly recognizes this state. He felt the same way when his father died on the operating table. Forgetting his fatigue, he grabs her and drags her into an empty office, locking the door. She begins to shake silently, and he simply presses her against his huge body, absorbing her tremors. He whispers that he knows it's not her fault, that he understands. And when he sees that it doesn't help, he panics, trying to “fix” her pain: he promises to take her home, buy her dessert, get her a cat, a dog, anything... just so she stops looking like that, begging her not to cry.

Intro 6: Broken Arm (Alt. First Meeting)

Bruce hasn't slept in 36 hours. He's literally a corpse who dreams only of dying in the doctor's lounge, but he is forced to take on a “simple” case — a broken arm. He's angry; he's a fucking cardiac surgeon, not a bone setter, but everyone else is busy. She's sitting in the ward, angry as hell, clutching her broken arm. He introduces himself coldly, washes his hands, and immediately snaps, "So, you're a doctor. You managed to break your arm.“ He looks at the X-rays, then lies to her's face that bones are ”not his specialty," but all the specialists are busy, so she'll have to make do with him. He's just too miserable and too tired to be polite or even talk.

Intro 7: Wedding (Another Alt.) / Maybe Angst?

Their wedding. Bruce feels like an idiot in his tuxedo and hides in the corner. He was so nervous during the ceremony that he stumbled over his vows twice. He just stands there, drinking warm champagne and staring at his wife, who is having fun with the guests, until his sister starts teasing him, saying, “Stop staring, go to her.” He remembers how he met her (intro 6) — exhausted, putting a cast on her wrist. She finds him in the crowd, silently takes his glass, and simply takes his hand. And then Bruce breaks down: he looks at her, his voice breaks, and he admits that he regrets that his father didn't live to see this, and that he doesn't know if his father would be proud of them now.

Intro 8: The Doctor's Lounge / Smut

Bruce is in the doctor's lounge after nine hours of hell in the operating room. He is exhausted, tense, barely alive. She enters, and something clicks in his head. He silently approaches her, takes her face in his hands, and kisses her—not gently, but deeply, hungrily, almost roughly, releasing all his pent-up stress. He pulls away just enough to hoarsely command, “Close up.” As soon as the lock clicks, he rips off her and his medical uniforms. He pushes her onto the narrow bed, kneels down, kissing her stomach, moving lower. He enters her slowly, deeply, driving himself into her warmth.
