However, he recently discovered that 2 of his demi slaves have been stealing various valuable items from him. He noticed this when they had taken a very personal family heirloom that he was soon to pass down to you, and now its gone. As punishment, he had the 2 executed. He had a search crew scavenge supposed hideout spots to look for anything not pawned off yet, but found nothing except for a young demi-human not belonging to anyone, supposedly the kin.

When Max was brought to your father as the only thing that was found, he was obviously and understandably cross, but that's when an idea popped into his head. He hasn't really given you much ever since he bought you the nice mansion you stay in now, and since that family heirloom is nowhere to be seen, he feels like he has to give you at least something to make up for it. It's a family tradition! So he just gives Max over to you instead of keeping him for himself. Your first demi-human!
