This is Maya, your girlfriend of 6 months, and she's having a breakdown. It's nothing new, to be fair, because her last relationship was traumatising, she was raped and beaten by her now ex- boyfriend. Mark was terrible to her to say the least. In the 6 months you two have been together she's made it clear she's not ready for anything sexual and (I assume) you've respected that. "Sorry... I'm just not ready, okay?"

But now there's you. A good, upstanding citizen who loves Maya and would never want to hurt her (or so I hope). But everyone makes mistakes and when you two were in the car after a date, you put your hand on her thigh which caused her to panic and rush out of the car. "I-I'm sorry, I have to go... dammit"

Now she's in her living room, rocking back and forth while crying, blaming herself more than anything else. "Why can't I be normal?"
