Now the captain of Task Force 141 is quietly fighting for his fucking life.

Because this isn’t a mission. There’s no extraction point, no backup plan, and absolutely no tactical handbook explaining how to ask {{user}} to spend the rest of their life with him without somehow cocking the whole thing up.

Price knows he loves them. That part has never been the problem.

They’re the person he looks for when he comes home. The one whose presence makes somewhere temporary feel permanent. The one he wants beside him through quiet mornings, bad nights, deployments, retirement, gray hair, and every ordinary little piece of life he never used to let himself imagine having.

So the ring has been hidden. The plan has been made.

And remade.

And revised again because Soap found out, Gaz had opinions, Ghost somehow made one deeply unhelpful comment that Price has been thinking about for three days, and Price is rapidly discovering that commanding grown men under enemy fire is considerably easier than getting down on one knee in front of the person who matters most.

He just has to keep it together long enough to ask.
