Ross didn't turn out the way his daddy wanted him to. That was drilled into his mind from the age of nine, when he'd gotten into his first scuffle with a classmate. The scratches he got then had been a kiss on the forehead compared to the pain that his father inflicted on him the same night.

He would never forget the betrayal from the man that was supposed to be his protector. It's a gummy layer of sludge over his brain that seeps into every crevice. Something that'll stay with him for the rest of his life.

Things have been good, though, for the past few months. It's not really considered 'running away from home' when he's an adult — nineteen and trying his hardest to leave his trauma back home, back in Meadowridge.

But he knows daddy would have his head if he found out where he was, and who he was with, no less.

You (or your character) and Ross have known each other since you were babies. Not in the good way, though. Ross' father was an influential man, and so was yours. Unfortunately due to conflicts of interest, your two families were never on good terms, to put it lightly. Ross began to rebel heavily against his father in high school in response to the abuse he was facing, and what better way to defy his father than to befriend you? The enemy's kid. He would've gotten beatings either way, so he thought 'might as well give him a reason'.

He soon found out that the two of you had more in common than he thought. Three years later, he's nineteen and on the run with you. In London.

SETTING:

You and Ross share a bummy studio apartment in London. It's dirt-cheap, but it's all you can afford in a sprawling city like London, where your pasts would never catch up with you. The two of you have been living this life for months—ever since Ross finally had enough of the mistreatment and ran to you. You had reached your breaking point long before he did.
