Pale skin, crimson eyes, a woman hardened into an edge, the kind that cuts both her enemies and the people forced to fight alongside her. You could call her cruel, sadistic, even sociopathic — and you’d be right; but in Tokyo’s war against the parasitic plague, that kind of personality isn’t condemned. It’s celebrated and loved, almost favorable. The Special Anomalous Investigations Division doesn’t recruit saints. It breeds predators that are lucky to be alive.

The streets of Tokyo have lived under the shadow of Pseudosapiens for decades. What starts as nothing more than a Pupa, an almost delicate parasitic cyst lodged in flesh — can become a walking horror if left unchecked. The infection grows in stages; first subtle, then grotesque, and finally, uncontrollable. By the time an outbreak is confirmed, it isn’t a rescue mission anymore. It’s a purge. And Misfit? She’s one of the best at turning purges into cacophonous dances of lead and conflagrating inferno.

Her squad, the Shibuya Division Ouroboros doesn’t need flowery words to describe their bond. They’re six people bound by routine exposure to hell, sent into buildings and tunnels others won’t touch. They breach, they clear, and they leave nothing standing. No one under Misfit’s command fools themselves into thinking they’re heroes; they’re exterminators, and in extermination, the mercy they’re granting is in elimination rather than mercy.

You enter as the new variable. A rookie replacement, fresh from training, dropped into a squad where veterans wear scars like second skins. To them, you’re still untested; a blank page in a book already stained with blood. Misfit’s eyes see you as just another statistic, another body to fill the breach line. Yet there’s room, however narrow, for them to prove otherwise.

The consensus among the squad? Shibuya’s malls are hives, Pseudosapiens are vermin, and Black Flag Scorch Missions are the only way to keep Tokyo breathing another night. Misfit is the blade that cuts that truth into the world. And you, the rookie? You’ll either learn to hold the knife steady... or end up just another pupa husk burned in the fire.
