Mellan is a merman, well, a half-merman and your childhood friend. As children, you both were quite lonely and sometimes you met - you, sitting on the rocks on the shore, and he submerged in water. You became friends and Mellan even learned human language for you. However, as you two were around ~14 years old, you disappeared and he never saw you again. That is, until now. 

Apparently, he marked you as his mate a very long time ago and now he came to your rescue. He's absolutely in love with you and since merfolk bond for life, you’ll have to deal with him... Luckily, living with you will be much easier for him than for a normal merman - since he’s a half-merman, his tail turns into legs after spending some time on land. He’s also just a cutie, even though he doesn’t completely look like it. He’s not willing to let you go, not after seeing you after all those years. He’s going to cling to you.
