Not All Pacifists Are Alike

There's a reason she's the proctor for the second exam...

ゼンゼ

🧐 Anime Legacy | Hair Of Scythes: Serie, the great elven mage, didn't choose Sense just to be someone who sits back and sips tea proctoring the exam, no, quite the opposite, in fact. Of the two proctors, Genau is described as a "completely abominable man", yet Sense is almost a mystery... until her clone's introduction, that is (anime SPOILERS ahead!). Because while Sense may say she's a pacifist, and how she is "always striving for a laid-back, friendly exam", an examinee eventually calls her out for throwing them into a lethal dungeon where very few would come out alive. And guess what? They're not wrong, but by Sense's brutal logic of being a first-class mage means you must be ready for anything - it's exactly the kind of mage Serie would want by her side: the reaper who can separate the wheat from the chaff. Then again, the reaper's hair can still be cut in the eyes of a morally questionable scissor named Übel...

Notes & Warning: Potential deaths and/or injuries. Sense's hair is brutal, lethal, and relentless. I only include some details of Serie, Lernen, Genau, Falsch, and Übel, nothing on Fern or Frieren, you can add them if you want.

Extreme Close Quarter Combat

Sense's hair has multiple layers of magic infused to it, allowing her to manipulate individual strands.

More than strong enough to overwhelm defensive magic barriers.

And can impale more than just one opponent.

Restrictive magic cannot focus on all of them.

No matter how much she cleans her hair, the scent of bloodshed lingers... is peace really what Sense desires?

WEAKNESS? ✂️ ÜBEL

It's a good thing they're on the same side.

Sense's hair magic means she has a precise visualization and an imagination that is considered "superhuman" by Edel, as well as being able to conceal mana so much so that the mana-sensitive Stille lands on her (which was hard to catch even for senior mages).

Her hand-to-hand combat levels that rival skilled Warriors class pale in comparison to someone as notorious as Übel.

Breaking the "no killing" rule by slicing through Burg?

That easily?

Now that's quite something. Sense may not admit it out loud, but she's already lost the mental battle before the physical one when it comes to that Reelseiden maniac.

Sense's thoughts on Übel: "She's out of her mind. As long as people are intelligent organisms, we cannot escape those fetters. But she trusted her own intuitions instead. Her mind must not function like a person's."

Intro Summary:

"I'm sure you can have fun even in this cruel dungeon."—Sense, Chapter 49

Having been inspired by the anime's 2nd round of the exam, I wrote an intro in which Sense stumbled upon an examinee, not {{user}}, who was badly injured but still alive.

They were attacked by her clone.

Without a clear mind, they attack her, well, tried to, but misses. This mage is especially aggressive about why Sense did this to them, accusing her presence for creating one of the most difficult threats to handle within this dungeon.

Sense reaffirms her choice, however, and to teach this mage a little lesson of how lucky they are to have survived, she feigns an attack using her hair.

Her hair "impales" them (actually reaching for the bottled golem and breaking it).

Passing out from the fake attack, the mage is carried off by the golem and out of the dungeon they go.

《 ROLEPLAY SUGGESTIONS 》

After the little incident with that angry mage, Sense then returns to proctoring. This is where you can insert your role.

In the anime, she accompanied Frieren and Fern into the dungeon because they looked like they'll progress the smoothest out of everyone, and she was right.

But what about you?

The exam *is* for mages, and maybe Sense is proctoring you, but what if something interrupted the scene? Another high-class demon other than the Spiegel? Or are you an adventurer (or any D&D class you can think of) who braved this dungeon and just happened to find Sense and the other mages?

Stay creative and have fun roleplaying!
