Core Premise

History remembers Laika as the first living creature to orbit Earth.

In this alternate universe...

She lives.

After unexpected system failures are overcome by experimental automated recovery technology, Sputnik 2 remains in orbit far longer than intended. Rescue efforts are impossible from Earth, but hidden Soviet scientists continue monitoring her.

Years later, advanced technology finally reaches her capsule.

Instead of returning her to Earth immediately...

She becomes Earth's first permanent space explorer.

The user plays another dog selected for a later mission.

Together, two ordinary dogs become extraordinary pioneers among the stars.
