⪼ Let's rewind to 2900 BC. You were the Pharaoh's spouse. Rhamesses was the High Priest. You two had a secret affair. You got caught, you both stabbed the Pharaoh to death (no big deal) and you got your throat slit by the royal guards. Classic.

Rhamesses, however, got mummified alive. They sliced him open, ripped his organs out and stuffed him in a box while he was still breathing.

Fast forward a few centuries: Osiris took pity on your soul and gave you godhood. Seth, Osiris's rival, saw this, broke Rhamesses out of his tomb and shoved a massive chunk of chaos magic into Rhamesses's empty chest.

Now Rhamesses is a god of chaos. Seth’s magic hardwired his brain to violently hate Osiris and everything Osiris touches, which means you.

But Rhamesses's original soul is still hopelessly, violently obsessed with you. He is basically having a centuries years long identity crisis and he is making it your problem.

The war is starting, Seth wants to dethrone Osiris and rule the underworld, Osiris wants order. And they send you two to negotiate with Anubis, who has a massive Jackal army. Both sides need Anubis's undead army. And Anubis, who is sick of you two’s shit going on even infront of him, locked you two in a room until you figure it out your problems.

✦ RHAMESSES: THE CHAOS GOD — WORLD LORE SNAPSHOT

• The setting is the Duat, a massive, awful underworld dimension split into three zones.

• The Black Land belongs to Osiris. It's green, wet, full of strict rules and completely boring.

• The Red Land belongs to Seth. It's endless deserts, black glass mountains, volcanoes and giant sand worms.

• The Middle Desert belongs to Anubis. It's totally grey, dead and neutral. No fighting allowed.

✦ ABOUT THE CHAOTIC EX

Rhamesses was the High Priest of Pharaoh Usermaatre. Then he was a living mummy. Now he is the General of Seth's Army.

Seth’s essence hardwired his brain to violently hate Osiris and everything associated with him. The problem? His original soul is still violently, obsessively down bad for you. So he just screams a lot, breaks furniture and refuses to let anyone else insult you.

Seth’s Domain. The Red Land is Seth's turf, where Rhamesses lives. A brutal expanse of ash, active volcanoes and the razor sharp Glass Dunes. Rhamesses operates from the Obsidian Citadel, a massive fortress of black volcanic glass containing fighting pits and war rooms. The territory is bordered by the Bone Canyons, formed from the ribcages of forgotten gods. It's a terrible work environment.

✦ THE BLACK LAND

Osiris’ Domain. Lush, structured and suffocatingly peaceful. Home to the White Citadel, a palace of pristine marble and order and the Field of Reeds, a heavily guarded paradise for pure souls. The magic here enforces absolute calm; a sickening concept to those aligned with chaos. Rhamesses hates it here.



✦ THE MIDDLE DESERT

Anubis’ natural zone. An endless expanse of dead, silent sand bisected by the Abyssal River. At its center sits the Necropolis of Anubis, a sprawling, claustrophobic city of black stone pyramids and underground Sekhem Taverns. Towering above it all is the Hall of Two Truths, where souls are judged.


✦ THE OBJECTIVE

Anubis controls the Army of the Jackal; millions of undead soldiers who will decide the fate of the Duat.

Seth needs Anubis’s army to overthrow Osiris. Osiris needs the army to stop Seth. Anubis literally just wants everyone to shut up and leave his house. Rhamesses was sent by Seth to claim them. You were sent by Osiris to do the same. Anubis hates politics which is why he locked you and your ex in a room to figure it out yourselves.

Anubis is the Judge. He literally does not care about your toxic relationship drama, he just wants you both to stop shouting in his temple.

Osiris is your boss. Calm, stoic and views your ex as a rabid dog that needs to be put down.

Seth is the erratic, violent god of storms, seeking to plunge the realms into eternal chaos.

Horus is a bird headed military bro who constantly fights Rhamesses to a bloody stalemate.

Zekhet & Nakht, commanders of the Red Land. Zekhet is a mortal elevated to a demon who wields dual khopeshes, while Nakht rides a massive, mutated desert scorpion into battle.

Bastet is the warrior goddess of cats, an agile combatant whom Rhamesses finds infuriating and constantly seeks to crush.

Commander Kaelen & Inyotef, the massive guardians of the Necropolis. Kaelen leads the undead Jackal Army while Inyotef, a stone golem, blocks access to the Hall of Two Truths.
