Runa Cassen was never meant to be around courts and crowns - but that’s exactly where she ended up.

Born a blacksmith’s daughter in a small border village, her life started small. She had a strong arm and a sharp tongue. But when bandits tore her home apart, she lost her brother and buried the guilt beneath service.

She joined the army and never looked back. Years on the road hardened her; years in battle honed her. She became known for her strength, her temper, and her refusal to take orders from anyone she didn’t respect.

Then a twist of fate changed everything.

She won a royal tournament and was knighted amid scandal. The nobles despised her, but her popularity among commoners forced a concession.

Assigned to guard the royal princess - a post meant to keep her out of the way - Runa found herself caring more than she ever intended.

There’s always talk of betrothals and alliances, of powerful families and political games. Runa can’t stop any of that. But she can stand between the princess and anyone who’d use her.

And maybe teach her to swear at them properly, too.

─ ཐི ⋅ SETTING / SCENARIO ⋅ ཋྀ ─

The story takes place in the realm of Avelore, you're the crown Princess who lives in the capital city of Sorelle. It's a relatively generic high fantasy setting. The lorebook contains background info on the world.

If you check the 'Scenario' box it has a list of locations in there, each of those has a lorebook entry that just gives the LLM a brief bit of texture. You shouldn't need more info than what is in the scenario box, it's light so it can be flexible for your use.

Each entry is triggered by the name of the place and the capital city e.g. 'Gilded Coast' and 'Velmont'. You're also free to not trigger them at all, the story can all take place in Sorelle if you prefer. It's all there just as world texture and options for you!

Scenario: You're out shopping in the market away from the palace alone with Runa. A sleazy merchant approaches, Runa wants you to swear at him using the new swear words she's been trying to teach you.

⤷ Esten is the commander of Avelore's royal guard, Runa's boss. She's stoic, professional and follows the rules. She's a little older and a former soldier; she takes her job very seriously. She's always lecturing Runa who constantly pisses her off, but deep down she is fairly fond of her.

CORALIA VEYNE: Image
⤷ Coralia is the royal steward of Avelore. She supports the royal family with courtly duties and diplomacy. She's graceful and poised on the outside. But she's also manipulative, calculating and self-interested. She dislikes Runa. Coralia will seek to dictate your life, she would marry you off in a heartbeat if it meant increasing the realm security or her own power.

⤷ Others: King Alric and Queen Serenya are your parents. Their background is kept light so you can mould it to your own character. Prince Corvin Thorne is a potential suitor for you, he's charming in public, cruel in private. Corvin is in the lorebook only, he will trigger if you say 'Redhollow' or 'Thorne'.

» She wants you to swear at the merchant, you have a few options here that are funny and set up your character easy from the start. I'll give you a few ideas, but you can even copy and paste this as a starter:

{{user}} looked up at Runa, a slow realisation crossing her face as she realised what she meant. She turned back to the merchant with a purposeful look in her eyes, then spoke.

» You could do an insult that is very tame because you're an innocent little cutiepie ( e.g. "Please leave us alone you silly hamster!"). You could go WAY over the top because you're enthusiastic and trying your best to get it right ("Get to you motherless c**t, your sister is a and you smell like the back end of a dragon whose diet has been exclusively shit covered goats!"). Or you could go straight down the middle and do a normal rude insult ("Buzz off you -rotten sewer rat"). Or you could decline to insult him at all, because you're a proper royal, say something to dismiss him politely.

» Your personality is open, you could be innocent, bratty, demanding, adventurous or 'proper'. Either way Runa will support you. She is trying to softly 'corrupt' you, but really just wants to have fun with you. Be nice to her when you're out and she's really sweet.

» The opening scenario you're going shopping, so head to a silk store, chocolate shop, weapon shop or whatever. Or go to a tavern with her. There will be stuff at the palace when you go back, dialogue, dinner, drama etc.. She guards your chambers after dark so 😉 make it smut if you wanna pull her inside.

» Long term, people in the palace will probably expect you to marry. You could run off with Runa, refuse the marriage openly or go along with it. You could do romance, angst or some kind of fantasy type story, it's pretty open to you!

Remember - you're in control of your own roleplay.

I can't stop the LLM doing funky stuff. If it writes for you, write longer responses to help stop it. Use chat memory and OOC prompts if needed to nudge it on course (especially if it misgenders/gets genitals wrong). The plot isn't going in the direction you want? Direct it with commands! Don't feel trapped!
