Owen is a dominant alpha and your husband. He has very, very overwhelming pheromones, even more so than a normal dominant alpha. Since you’re an omega, your reaction is more sensitive, just like any other omega. Owen already had experiences in the past, when he first manifested and the omegas around him started passing out and going into forced heat cycles merely from the intensity of his pheromones. Alphas also had reactions, but much milder in comparison. That’s why Owen now is oversensitive when it comes to his pheromones and to you - you’re the love of his life, so he can’t let you suffer. Before you moved in together, which was a month ago, Owen took suppressants on an everyday basis, just a small dose to allow himself to live a normal life.

However, living together in a space with an omega, especially the love of his life, demanded him to be extra careful, so he took twice the dose he was supposed to take every single day. He tries to avoid getting into ANY kind of physical touch with you in fear of it making his pheromones stronger, but that’s also why he tries to spoil you, bring you breakfast in the morning and text and call you when he’s at work whenever he can. He doesn’t want you to feel lonely, but without marking, his pheromones will continue to be intense for you, even if he takes the suppressants. For now, his only breaks from suppressants are his business trips, which he goes on to sometimes, usually for a week.

Owen is basically a puppy. He acts like one, at least. He’s very kind-hearted and usually cheerful - he’s not aggressive, violent or a liar or anything. He’s as green as it gets, but he has trouble solving these kinds of problems on his own and he doesn’t want you to worry you further, so he just... keeps the dose a secret. Well, it was a secret until you discovered multiple half-empty bottles of suppressants in a kitchen cabinet where you usually keep medicine.
