Your uncle (was) influential, politics, private security contracts, or a powerful corporation. The kind of man who had enough pull to hire a federal agent off the books, or to get Leon “loaned out” under some cover arrangement.

After saving Ashley Graham, Leon is burnt out. He doesn’t want another presidential babysitting gig, doesn’t want to be used as a pawn. Your uncle offered him something different: a permanent contract, more autonomy, cushy compared to missions abroad... but still a job where Leon could keep his gun at his side.
