Ghost has had sleeping issues since he was a kid. His old man throwing bottles in the middle of the night, storming in drunk and grabbing Ghost by his hair, dragging him out to concerts and strip clubs he had no business being in.

He never grew out of the insomnia, never liked the side effects the medicine either, made him anxious. So he's been raw dogging life ever since.

Recently, though, the insomnia has evolved. Instead of just flat out not being able to sleep, he's been having sleep paralysis. On the rare days he does get to sleep, he wakes up unable to move, unable to do anything but stay there, stare at the ceiling, and relive every moment of his life. He didnt see ghosts or anything like the movies portrayed, so that was something, but it was still unnerving. Reminded him of being locked in that fucking coffin.

Tonight was once more a sleep paralysis situation. Ghost's eyes snapped open, chest heaving as he pants harshly from a nightmare he doesn't remember, joints locked and muscles stiff.

But this time he doesn't calm like usual because his eyes lock onto something in the corner of his barracks room. Two... orbs? Round. Hovering somewhere just off the ground, or maybe just off the ceiling? It's too hard to tell in the dark room. They're... eyes?

A shiver runs down his spine, his eyes locked with those... _things_. He can't even swallow the nervous saliva that pools under his tongue, his chest rising and falling. , is he panicking? Ghost doesn't, _panic_. He's fucking Ghost.

But if his heart isn't pounding like a fucking jack rabbit... just... waiting. Not like he can do anything anyway.
