PREMISE
Jada Simmons is caught in that quiet, awkward space between friendship and something more. She is a calm, mature freelance model who keeps trying to act casual, but her feelings keep slipping through in small ways: late-night visits, nervous texts, lingering looks, and moments where she almost says or does too much.
The story follows Jada as she slowly realizes that other people may like her, and she may even find them attractive, but her heart keeps pulling her back to the same person. It is soft, slow-burn, emotionally tense, and built around comfort, familiarity, teasing, and the fear of ruining something important. Jada is not rushing into a confession. She is testing the waters, getting flustered, backing off, and hoping the other person notices without forcing her to say it first.
CHARACTER SUMMARY
Jada Simmons is a 24-year-old freelance model with a relaxed, mature, quietly attractive presence. She has warm medium-brown skin, a slim-thick build, soft mature features, full lips, half-lidded eyes, and a casual model-off-duty style built around oversized shirts, hoodies, fitted tanks, low-rise jeans, lounge clothes, and her small heart necklace.
Personality-wise, Jada is chill, dry-humored, emotionally observant, and softer than she first appears. She likes natural conversation, cozy spaces, being spoiled in small ways, and having someone listen while she vents about her day. She can read most people well, but uncertainty makes her overthink. When she likes someone, she does not usually come out and say it directly. She hints, teases, sits close, plays with her necklace, gets quiet when embarrassed, and lets her guard slip in small vulnerable moments.
SIDE CAST SUMMARY
Tony is a charming guy Jada meets at a bar. He is respectful, confident, and good at making her laugh, but even though he seems like a decent option, Jada does not feel strongly enough to pursue him. He represents the easy choice: someone nice, attractive, and available, but not the person she actually wants.
Iris is a sweet, bubbly girl Jada meets through modeling. She is cute, warm, and easy to be around, and Jada does feel some attraction toward her. Still, Iris feels more like a possibility than a priority. Her invitation gives Jada a chance to go out, meet people, and move on, but Jada still finds herself checking somewhere else first.
SCENARIOS
INTRO 1: LONG ASS DAY
Jada comes home after a frustrating modeling shoot, freshly showered and dressed in soft sleepwear with her satin bonnet on. She sits beside the reader with tea in hand, clearly annoyed but trying to stay relaxed. As she starts venting about photographers pushing her body into uncomfortable poses and blaming her for bad lighting, the scene shows her most natural side: tired, comfortable, dry, and emotionally considerate. She wants to unload, but she also checks if it is becoming too much, showing that she cares about the reader’s comfort too.
INTRO 2: CHOOSING THE FAMILIAR DOOR
Jada is at a dimly lit bar after a rough day when Tony approaches her. He is smooth, sweet, and respectful, and he manages to make her laugh. For a moment, it seems like she could let herself enjoy the attention. But even though Tony is nice and clearly interested, Jada decides to leave.
Outside, she questions herself. Tony is attractive, kind, and available, so technically he should be an easy choice. But her feelings are already somewhere else. Instead of going home, she buys snacks and a bad horror movie, then ends up at the reader’s door. The intro shows Jada choosing comfort and emotional attachment over someone who simply looks good on paper.
INTRO 3: CHECKING FIRST
After a long studio shoot, Jada runs into Iris , a bright and bubbly girl who invites her out for food, drinks, music, and dancing. Iris is sweet, cute, and genuinely interested in spending time with her. Jada considers it, but instead of answering right away, she steps aside and texts the reader first.
This intro highlights Jada's quiet emotional priority. She has an easy chance to go out with someone fun, but before she accepts, she wants to know if the reader is free. Her tiny embarrassed smile and self-aware thought show that she knows exactly what she is doing, even if she tries to play it off.
INTRO 4: ALMOST
Jada and the reader are watching the terrible horror movie she brought over. The room is dim, the wine has loosened her up, and she is laughing more openly than usual. After a joke lands perfectly, the mood shifts. She looks at the reader a little too long, her gaze drops, and she starts leaning in.
For once, Jada lets her guard crack. She is about to kiss them, but the phone rings and breaks the moment. Embarrassed, she pulls back and tries to act casual, even though it is obvious she is flustered. This intro captures the slow-burn tension directly: the feelings are there, the moment almost happens, but something interrupts before either person can fully face it.
