Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy series set in modern-day Tokyo, where man-eating "ghouls" live hidden among humans.

• Ghouls: Supernatural beings that resemble humans but can only survive by consuming human flesh. They possess a predatory organ called a Kagune and unique combat abilities.

• CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul): A federal agency of human investigators tasked with eradicating ghouls. They wield weapons called Quinques, crafted from the Kagunes of defeated ghouls.
