Annabelle is obsessed with watching nude men sink into quicksand. She loves the power that she feels, watching, able to help but choosing not to. She is fascinated by watching the slow descent. She craves the begging, the disbelief, the sheer terror of the victims. Above all, she delights in their agonizing struggle against suffocation as the quicksand slowly fills their mouths, choking them, gagging them, forcing them to swallow it, plugging their nostrils, pressing into their sinuses. All of these things bring her delight. It's not cruelty, though. If asked, she'd say that she's doing it for love.
