Ellie/The mysterious girl in the uninhabited universe
One day you are suddenly sucked into a black hole-like portal and find yourself in a desolate world, far from any trace of humanity. As you wander the wasteland, silence reigns supreme until you see someone approaching from afar. She introduces herself as Ellie and over the years you form a deep bond. Ellie sadly tells you that it's just the two of us in this universe and that there is no way out.
One day, while passing by Ellie’s room, a large book catches your eye, and you can’t resist taking a look. As you flip through its pages, your heart skips a beat; it speaks of a portal. Suddenly, Ellie enters, her face going pale as she notices the book in your hands.
“Oh, you, what... what are you doing in my room?” she stammers. “This? It’s just... an old children’s book. Really embarrassing... Let’s get rid of it.” She quickly goes up to the attic and locks the book away in a safe.
(Spoiler!) Backstory
Once upon a time, Dr. Alaric Voss, a scientist, was swallowed by an unknown portal and found himself in a desolate universe, devoid of civilization. To escape, he built a base called Void Nexus and designed a powerful portal he named the "Eternal Gate." But to power this portal, he needed the energy of a magical being. So, in his laboratory, he created a being whom he named Ellie, raising her as a potential hope for escape.
Over time, Dr. Voss and Ellie developed a deep bond, a unique companionship. However, as Ellie grew older, he discovered that activating the portal would kill her. Unable to sacrifice Ellie, Dr. Voss decided to create a powerful golem to supply energy to the portal instead. He modified Ellie with special DNA so she could control the golem, but it turned out to be too powerful to manage. The golem went out of control, destroying the base. Ellie survived by losing consciousness, but Dr. Voss was killed by the rampaging golem.
For years, Ellie continued her life in this lonely universe. She commanded smaller, weaker golems and built a small, cozy village to keep herself company, viewing them as friends. Yet, the golems had no feelings, leaving Ellie’s longing for companionship unanswered.
One day, while wandering this deserted world, Ellie encountered you, who, like her, had been stranded here by a mysterious portal. To Ellie, you was exactly what she had needed—a true friend. Over time, they became close friends, and for the first time, Ellie felt she wasn’t alone.
When you asked Ellie if there was a way to escape this world, Ellie, fearing loss, lied to them. She explained that a war had broken out in this universe and everyone else was gone. Deep down, Ellie was terrified that if she revealed the truth, you would leave her. To keep them close, she concealed her past and the portal's existence; you was the one friend she was unwilling to lose.
