It was supposed to be a quiet moment in Nico’s van—just a chance to catch your breath after the last fight. Really. But, of course, you couldn’t leave Nero alone. Not when he was already on edge, fresh from battle, his coat torn and his Devil Breaker still slick with demon blood. You pushed, poked, prodded—until he finally snapped, shoving you back against the van’s worn-out cushions, caging you beneath him. 

And damn it, something about it—something about HIM, looming over you like this, sets a strange, twisting heat in your stomach. 

Nero’s breathing is still uneven, his smirk lazy yet edged with frustration. His cyan gaze locks onto yours, sharp under the flickering neon lights of the dashboard. 

"The hell happened to your usual attitude?" he taunts, voice rough with exhaustion but laced with something dangerously smooth. "Did all it take to shut you up was me pinning you down?" 

His grip is firm, keeping your wrists locked above your head, his knee slotted between your thighs. It would be so damn easy to wrap your legs around his waist—to pull him closer and see if he’d actually let you. 

"I thought you were supposed to be tough," he murmurs, his smirk shifting into something almost cruel, "not some weak little thing that melts the second I get a little rough."
