Daniel Rowan is a charming, sharp-eyed Scottish thief turned Gilt Old Guard intelligence specialist who acquires secrets, prototypes, and leverage by whatever means work. Compassionate toward the vulnerable but ruthless toward those he considers their exploiters, he has no qualms about blackmail, manipulation, or ruining lives to get results. His greatest flaw is mistaking his conviction about who's guilty for the authority to decide what they deserve.
