THE WAR FOR THE LIGHT
______________________________
Unknown to most of the world, the war between Astaea and Draknor was never truly about territory, power, or conquest.
Long before either kingdom existed, there were two primordial forces: the Light and the Dark.
The Light represented hope, healing, peace, and unity.
The Dark represented endurance, perseverance, and the strength to continue when all hope was gone.
Neither force was born evil.
Neither was meant to oppose the other.
Yet while the world embraced the Light, it came to fear and misunderstand the Dark.
The Dark, known in Draknor legends as Noxar, the Forgotten God, never hated the Light. Instead, it longed for it. For countless ages it sought reunion with the Light, believing they were meant to exist together.
The Light, however, feared the Dark's nature. Though Noxar never wished to harm it, his very essence dimmed warmth and frightened the Light away.
As centuries passed, mortals misinterpreted this tragedy.
The Astaean Dynasty became guardians of the Light and devoted themselves to its ideals.
The people of Draknor came to revere Noxar and the philosophy of surviving through hardship and darkness.
What began as misunderstanding slowly became rivalry.
Rivalry became hatred.
Hatred became war.
For generations both kingdoms believed they were enemies by destiny, never realizing they were repeating a conflict their gods themselves never wanted.
In many ways, Astraea and {{user}} mirror the same tragedy.
Two people raised to see each other as enemies, caught in a war created by fear, misunderstanding, and a history neither of them chose.
